Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Technician

Job Description:
We currently have an opening in our Denver office for a CAD Technician/Operator for infrastructure and civil design projects using CAD software.  You should be highly proficient in MicroStation and knowledgeable in AutoCAD.  You should also have experience preparing 2D and 3D construction drawings from redline sketches, 2D/3D layouts, existing drawings and electronic images. In this position you’ll be interacting with engineers and applying your knowledge of CAD practices to set up CAD processes and standards.

Required Skills and Experience:
  1. Experience working with MicroStation 2D/3D is a must; knowledge of AutoCAD is helpful
  2. Experience with other software tools, such as BIM/Revit Civil 3D, Bluebeam, ProjectWise, and SharePoint
  3. Familiarity with one-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and electrical plan view drawings
  4. Knowledge of drafting techniques, standards and setups, and general engineering terminology
  5. Ability to create company standards and CAD design guides
  6. Ability to adhere to client CAD standards and design guides
  7. Familiarity with good CAD file maintenance processes
  8. Ability to understand project directions and then work independently
  9. Good communications skills to coordinate with other disciplines and clients when necessary
  10. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  11. Ability to work with last minute changes and on-going revisions
  12. Experience in QA/QC internal policies

 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • 2 year Associates Degree in Drafting and Design or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of CAD experience with engineering firms
  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects including civil, highway, rail and/or airports
