Triunity is providing engineering and program/construction management services to some of the nation’s most exciting and challenging transportation projects throughout the nation. We are currently seeking a Project Planner for our client office in Boston MA.  The project that this position will support is the furnishing of  a complete Positive Train Control (PTC) system on the entire Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Commuter Rail network.   The project scope of work includes design, integration, delivery of materials, on board and field installation, testing, commissioning, technical support and documentation for the PTC system.
 
Working with the Project Manager (PM) and a dedicated Project Team the Project Planner (PJP) will interface with Work Package Leads collecting, validating and updating project schedules.  The PJP will support the PM in recurring (daily, monthly, quarterly) reviews assessing progress on project activities
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Developes the plans and schedules for the project
  • Implement overall recurring progress update, forecast, critical path, and trend analyses.
  • Review and verify the coherence / consistency of physical progress assessed by work package leads.
  • Produces schedules, charts, graphs and spreadsheets as directed by the PM
  • Provide the project team and management with high quality forecast of future activities, reports on that progress through the use of Primavera and/or Microsoft Excel
  • Initiates, maintains and enhances resource- and cost- loaded, logically related, design, engineering, installation and commissioning schedules in Primavera P6
  • Initiates and produces schedule variance reports and analysis, including critical path identification and “What If” schedule scenario studies
  • Support the analysis and development of alternatives and expected outcomes to avoid potential Project schedule delays.
  • Assist with the identification of alternate approaches to optimize the plan(s)
  • Conduct periodic construction project site visits to monitor progress and assure progress schedule integrity
 
Qualifications:
 
  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. Five years of related project controls /scheduling experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Oracle Primavera P6 experience
  • 3-5 years of construction experience on transportation (transit, highway, aviation) projects
  • Transit experienced preferred
