Become part of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line Extension (GLX).  GLX is an initiative to expand transit services in Greater Boston by extending the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line light rail beyond its current northern terminus at Lechmere Station in CambridgeMassachusetts.
The Office Engineer will be responsible to track the production of the multiple design submission and review each submission for completeness when delivered.  Approximately 60 design packages are expected to be submitted over the next 3 years.  Tasks will include developing and monitoring a design deliverable schedule, meeting with the engineers and designers from the Prime and its sub-consultants on a regular basis to review design completion status of each deliverable. 
  • Coordinate, review and assess contract and subcontractor submittals.
  • Review and process construction for project design submittals and ensure forms as per existing standards.
  • Analyze and recommend changes to contracts and prepare necessary amendments in contract document.
  • Manage and submit all reviewed contract document to contract administrators for further approval.
  • Prepare project records with details such as field progress, field conditions, equipment use and corrective actions.
  • Prepare monthly report on progress of assigned project with assistance of schedules, costs spreadsheets and perform analysis on same.
  • Prepare correspondence and documents related to assigned projects and facilitate in internal scanning and archiving.
  • Provide assistance to project manager
EDUCATION LEVEL: BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required.
EXPERIENCE  Minimum of 1-3 years of engineering or construction project management experience required. 
  • Strong management experience and leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, strategic project management and analytical skills. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in synthesizing information and presenting conclusions to senior management.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan and organize work, adapt to new situations, react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction operation or engineering problems.
  • Computer literacy or the ability to quickly learn software programs desirable.
